The International Dota 2 Championships 2015 will be the fifth annual edition of The International. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the tournament will be hosted in Seattle, and the second consecutive year that the Main Event will take place at KeyArena, a multi-purpose arena in Seattle Center with a total seating capacity of over 17,000.
The tournament was announced on January 7, 2015. The Main Event at Key Arena this year will feature 16 teams, an increase from the 8 of The International 2014. It is going to be held from 3rd of August till 8th of August.
This is the only International where winners of all previous TI were not invited.
Prize pools Edit
As always, Valve made the initial prize pool of $1,600,000 USD. An addition of 25% of TI purchases contributes to add the prize pool. Sales includes £6.99 worth of level 1 compendium, £16.99 worth of level of 50 compendium and other compendium gems.
Current prize pool up to date is said to be around $13,450,000 (Based on 9th of June)
